GROUPETAURUS · Infrastructure & equipment

Equip your workstations.
Connect your locations.

Workstations, networks, Wi-Fi, storage and site equipment: a model should not be selected from its specification sheet alone. We start with uses, working conditions and existing tools to prepare a coherent supply and installation proposal.

Infrastructure & equipment

What needs to work better.

The office, shop and field location impose different constraints. Power supply, dust, distance and spare-part availability may matter as much as advertised performance. These conditions need to be understood before equipment is selected.

01

Workstations slow down the work

A slow computer may lack memory, storage or an appropriate configuration. An inventory distinguishes what can be maintained, upgraded or replaced before committing to a complete refresh of the organisation’s equipment.

02

The network is inconsistent

Outages, weak Wi-Fi areas and undocumented cabling disrupt exchanges. We review uses, connection points and physical constraints to define the checks and adjustments required, rather than assuming the internet subscription alone explains the problem.

03

The equipment estate is fragmented

Models, warranties and accessories vary with each purchase. A standard for each use simplifies ordering, preparation and tracking, while allowing justified exceptions for jobs that require a different specification or working environment.

Equip a workstation, a location or several sites.

Workstations and peripherals

Computers, displays, docks and accessories are compared against applications, mobility and required connections. Operating-system and licence compatibility, available ports and warranty terms are checked against the actual models offered, including the accessories needed to make the workstation usable.

Networks and access

Routers, switches, wireless access points and links are sized around workstation counts, applications and the site layout. Guest, business and administrator access may be separated where needed. A site survey avoids treating a product’s stated range as evidence of actual coverage.

Storage and technical environment

Shared storage, power protection or a rack may complete the installation. Usable capacity, expected runtime, ventilation and maintenance access are assessed. Equipment does not replace backups, access permissions or a recovery procedure; each has its own purpose and operating responsibility.

A model-specific proposal, not an assumed stock promise.

The proposal states models, quantities, accessories, acceptable alternatives and supply terms. Availability, procurement lead times, warranty and support arrangements are confirmed when the quotation is prepared. Models are compared by compatibility, warranty terms and maintenance options. Preparation, transport, installation and maintenance services are identified separately, so you can distinguish the equipment from the work required to put it into use and keep it operating.

DELIVERY

From the need to daily operation.

  1. 01

    Survey the need

Record users, applications, existing equipment and site constraints. Check power, connections, locations and access required for an intervention; identify which uncertainties need a visit before a reliable proposal can be prepared.

  2. 02

    Select and approve

Compare compatible models and useful options. Obtain approval for quantities, warranties, terms and proposal limits, including possible substitutions if a model becomes unavailable between quotation and supply.

  3. 03

    Prepare and install

Configure the agreed items, identify equipment and arrange installation within approved windows. Document cabling, settings and access without leaving passwords exposed in an unrestricted shared folder or printed handover sheet.

  4. 04

    Accept and hand over

Test selected uses such as connectivity, an application, printing or file access. Hand over inventory, diagrams, warranty information and procedures, together with any outstanding issues that still require action.

ILLUSTRATIVE SCENARIO

A depot needs to connect its office and receiving area.

Example scenario. Teams use different workstations and the Wi-Fi signal does not reach a working area adequately. A survey identifies uses, obstacles and power points. The proposal combines compatible models, an access-point position to be checked on site and a documented addressing plan. Acceptance tests the agreed operations from the agreed locations. Final coverage and timing depend on the visit, test results and equipment availability. Coverage depends on access-point placement, obstacles and the site’s network layout.

DELIVERABLES

What the engagement can deliver.

The proposal confirms selected deliverables and their acceptance criteria.

  • List of selected models, quantities, accessories and options.
  • Network or placement diagram for the installed scope.
  • Equipment inventory and settings needed for operational follow-up.
  • Record of checks and any outstanding acceptance issues.
  • Handover pack with warranties, contacts and operating guidance.

A sequence to agree together.

  1. Survey · 1–2 weeks

Uses, inventory and a visit if required.

  2. Selection · subject to approval

    Confirm models, alternatives and terms.

  3. Procurement · to confirm

Dependent on stock, transport and access.

  4. Installation · by location

    Preparation, testing and handover.

Indicative planning, without a delivery commitment. Timing depends on scope, access, approvals, procurement and team availability. Stages may overlap.

What affects the quotation.

Quantities, required performance, field conditions, cable distances and access arrangements influence the quotation. Transport, any import requirements, licences, power protection and on-site services are stated separately. Support duration and scope follow the agreed terms; they are not assumed to be included automatically with every equipment purchase.

Practical questions.

Can you work with our current equipment?

The inventory checks its condition and compatibility. An extension or partial replacement may be enough. Support limitations, unavailable parts and compatibility risks are raised before the decision, including items that cannot reasonably remain in service.

How are brands selected?

Uses, compatibility, warranties, availability and maintenance options guide the choice. The proposal identifies the models, alternatives and technical reasons for the selection.
